This year the annual NCRA - National Campus and Community Radio Association Conference took place in Abbotsford BC June 7 - 11.
Hosted by CIVL Radio, six members of Peach City Radio traveled to the conference, attending a variety of presentations and workshops on research projects, technical and web development, interview skills, funding, volunteer recruitment and retention and more!
The conference was inspiring and each Peach City Radio delegate took away ideas and information that will serve us well as we move into the next exciting phase of community radio in Penticton.
During the conference, at the 2017 NCRA Awards Gala, Peach City Radio programmer, Lydia Frederick received an Honourable Mention for Best in Documentary for the Cannabis episode of her Doc Fever program.
Long-time Peach City Radio member and programmer, Larry Saidman received the award for Best in Music Programming for Discovering Jazz, a show he produces for Trent Radio in Peterborough, Ontario. Larry puts an extraordinary amount of work into community radio and though he no longer lives in Penticton, he still records Musical Therapy for Peach City Radio.
Congratulations to both Lydia and Larry. It's wonderful to see your hard work and creative efforts recognized and acknowledged on a national level.
